Vietnam Airlines has launched its first nonstop flight between Hanoi and Milan, establishing the airline's ninth direct route to Europe and the first direct air link between Vietnam and Italy. Operating three times weekly with Boeing 787 aircraft, the flight covers the journey in approximately 12 hours.The inaugural event at Milan Malpensa Airport was attended by Vietnamese Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân and Italian regional officials, emphasizing the route's role in strengthening bilateral ties, boosting tourism, and fostering trade.
This new connection is poised to enhance cultural and economic exchanges between Vietnam and Italy.Milan now serves as a key hub for Vietnam Airlines in Southern Europe, supporting the airline's strategy to expand its European network. The route aligns with Vietnam's goal of attracting 23 million international visitors by 2025, promoting tourism and deepening economic partnerships.
By facilitating easier travel, Vietnam Airlines aims to drive growth in cultural exchanges and trade, positioning Milan as a gateway for Vietnamese travelers to Southern Europe and strengthening Vietnam's presence in the global aviation market.
