Boom Supersonic's Overture aims to revolutionize air travel with an all-business-class supersonic jet, addressing the failures of Concorde and stalled supersonic business jet projects. Concorde's high costs—20000$ tickets for 100 cramped seats—limited demand, with flights often half-empty.

SSBJs like Aerion AS2 never materialized, as most private jet miles are overland, where supersonic flight remains restricted. Overture's design targets the lucrative business class market, where 40 / 80 flatbeds generate over 50% of airline revenue and 80% of profits. With 64 comfortable seats and no need for flatbeds due to flights being twice as fast, Overture offers fares ($5000) comparable to subsonic business class. This enables profitability on over 600 routes, far exceeding Concorde's limited scope.

Concorde suffered from a vicious cycle: high fuel use and fares reduced demand, leading to low utilization and higher costs. Overture creates a virtuous cycle with 64 seats, matching subsonic business class demand, ensuring high load factors and economic viability. Simulations confirm a 4,000+ nautical mile range supports profitability, with refueling for longer routes and an extended-range model planned.

Boom estimates demand for over 1,000 Overtures, driven by improved fuel economy, higher comfort, and a larger market compared to the eighties / nineties. Supersonic overland approval and upgrades from premium economy passengers could push demand higher. Overture is the starting point for a family of aircraft, including private jets and larger multi-class models. A standout feature? The largest boarding door ever on a supersonic jet, signaling a bold new era.
