Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's new national carrier, announced an order for up to 50 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft at the 55th Paris Airshow. The deal includes 25 firm orders and purchase rights for 25 more, formalized in a signing ceremony by Riyadh Air CFO Adam Boukadida and Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry. The A350-1000, with a range exceeding 16,000 km, enables Riyadh Air to connect major global cities, targeting over 100 destinations by 2030. This supports Riyadh's role as a G20 capital hosting events like Riyadh Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034.
The A350-1000 optimizes Riyadh Air's fleet, complementing its 182-aircraft order book and maintaining a three-type fleet for efficiency. Set to launch in 2025, the airline will offer a luxurious First-Class cabin alongside its recently unveiled Business Class, delivering an innovative guest experience with advanced cabin design, entertainment, and connectivity systems.
Riyadh Air aligns with Saudi Arabia's economic diversification strategy, boosting tourism, trade, and connectivity. As part of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, it will enhance air transport, cargo capacity, and passenger traffic, positioning Riyadh as a global business hub and showcasing Saudi Arabia's cultural and natural attractions.
