The Noida International Airport, delayed since its foundation in November 2021, is now set to commence operations in November 2025, according to Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi'. Speaking at a Yamuna Expressway Development Authority (YEIDA) review meeting, Gupta highlighted progress under the current government, contrasting it with past regimes where the project stalled post-elections. He claimed the airport, poised to be Asia's largest and the world's fourth largest, will be fully operational by November.

The project has faced multiple setbacks, missing its initial September 2024 completion target, followed by delays to April and then May-June 2025 due to unfinished terminal work. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier set deadlines of May 15 for domestic flights and June 25 for international operations. Noida International Airport Ltd officials outlined a phased timeline last month, projecting cargo and domestic services by September 15 and full international operations by November.Despite optimism, challenges persist.

The airport still requires critical approvals, including security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and an aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). With construction ongoing, meeting the November deadline remains uncertain. The project's completion is pivotal for enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth, but its success hinges on overcoming these final hurdles.
