Ethiopian Airlines Group launched a new passenger service linking Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with Porto, Portugal, on July 2, 2025. The inaugural flight took off from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport after a lively ceremony attended by dignitaries, guests, and airline executives.
This route strengthens socio-economic ties between Ethiopia and Portugal while expanding Ethiopian Airlines' global network.Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, stated, "We are thrilled to introduce flights to Porto, creating another vital link between Africa and Europe. The service operates four times weekly using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with a stop in Madrid, Spain. This new route establishes Porto as a key gateway to Portugal and reinforces Ethiopian Airlines' role as Africa's leading carrier connecting the continent to global destinations.
