Senator Osita Ngwu, Senate Minority Whip, celebrated the launch of Enugu Air on July 7, 2025, as a historic milestone, marking it as Nigeria's second state-owned airline after Ibom Air. He praised Governor Peter Mbah's visionary leadership for driving Enugu's socioeconomic transformation. 

Ngwu described Enugu Air as a revolutionary step to open the state for business, generate employment, attract investment, and position Enugu as a global economic hub.The senator highlighted the airline's potential to create career opportunities for young people in aviation, logistics, tourism, and hospitality. 

He noted that Enugu Air is part of an ecosystem expected to generate over 20,000 jobs across sectors like BRT, hybrid city taxis, airport operations, and ride-hailing services. Ngwu lauded Governor Mbah for his innovative approach to development, stating that this achievement cements his legacy.

Enugu Air will commence operations with three Embraer jets (E170 and E190), chosen for efficiency and comfort, forming a strategic network connecting Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos. Expansion plans include routes to Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, Kano, and beyond. Senator Ngwu expressed optimism about Enugu's bright future, crediting Mbah's leadership for steering the state toward economic prosperity.
