The Cathay Pacific Group, encompassing Cathay Pacific, Cathay Cargo, and HK Express, reported robust performance in May 2025, alongside achieving 100 global destinations and earning top industry awards. Cathay Pacific saw a 36.1% year-on-year passenger increase, with a record 84.7% load factor, driven by strong long-haul demand, student traffic, and a special fares campaign. Capacity (ASKs) rose 31.2%, and the first five months of 2025 showed a 28.4% passenger growth. The group anticipates strong summer demand, particularly for Southeast Asia, and has begun a lounge enhancement plan at Hong Kong International Airport.

Cathay Cargo recorded a 12.2% increase in cargo tonnage, with an 8% rise in capacity (AFTKs). Demand was boosted by tariff reductions and strong exports of live seafood and horses. The division was named Airline of the Year – Asia at the 2025 World Air Cargo Awards. HK Express carried 35.7% more passengers, with a 42.6% capacity increase, launching new routes to Changzhou and Yiwu. Despite a lower load factor, it hit a record monthly seat capacity. The group's expansion includes six new destinations in 2025, with Cathay Pacific ranking among the top three global airlines in the Skytrax Awards.
