Airbus reported an 85% surge in first-half profit to $1.7 billion, despite delivering fewer commercial planes—306 compared to 323 in the first half of 2022—due to persistent engine supply issues affecting its A320 jets. The company still secured 402 net aircraft orders and boosted revenues by 3% to €29.6 billion. Strong growth in the Defence and Space division (up 17%) and Helicopters segment (up 16%) drove the performance, with adjusted operating profit rising to €2.2 billion from €1.39 billion last year.

Despite supply chain challenges, Airbus maintained its full-year outlook, targeting 820 aircraft deliveries, €7.0 billion in adjusted EBIT, and €4.5 billion in free cash flow before customer financing. The company also plans to increase A330neo production to five per month by 2029 to meet growing demand. Additionally, Airbus is set to finalize the acquisition of assets from Spirit AeroSystems in Q4 2025, pending regulatory approvals, to strengthen its supply chain.

The results highlight Airbus's resilience amid complex operating conditions, including engine shortages and lingering pandemic effects. The robust performance of its Defence and Space and Helicopters divisions underpins optimism for future growth, as Airbus continues to navigate industry challenges while capitalizing on rising demand for its aircraft.
